Academic Health Education Foundation (AHEF)

A journey that brings together science and conscience.

Our Foundation's Core Principles

Working for Public Benefit and Collaborating with Public Institutions

Contributing to public institutions that shoulder the burden of society's health and education is AHEF's priority. Collaborating with state universities, education and research hospitals, and public health institutions is one of the cornerstones of our foundation's corporate identity. We are not an alternative to the state; we are supporters of public service.

Prioritizing Public Benefit

Every step we take aims to contribute to society as a whole, beyond individual or institutional interests. Every activity we carry out in the fields of health and education aims to improve human life, strengthen equal opportunities, and contribute to the common good.

Honesty, Transparency, and Accountability

Knowledge cannot be produced on a ground devoid of honesty; non-transparent structures damage social trust; institutions that don't account for their actions cannot sustain their existence in the long term. AHEF adheres to these three fundamental principles in all its activities, from decision-making processes to financial management, from academic evaluations to human relations.

Commitment to Universal Scientific Values

Scientific neutrality, critical thinking, methodological rigor, and transparency are our indispensable principles. AHEF remains faithful to these values in all its work; it tolerates no practices contrary to scientific ethics.

Multidisciplinary and Collaborative Approach

Health sciences are inherently multidisciplinary by nature. Every disease requires bringing together expertise from different branches. AHEF encourages collaboration across many disciplines from basic sciences to clinical applications; it views interdisciplinary scientific production not as a choice but as a necessity.

Patient-Centered Ethical Approach

Every patient is special. A doctor's ordinary day could be the most critical turning point in a patient's life. AHEF advocates an approach in health education and service production that centers each individual's unique experience, based on empathy and human dignity. The foundation of a good health system is patient-centered ethical understanding.

Support for Disadvantaged Groups

Science should reach not only those with means but also those without. AHEF sees disadvantaged segments of society not just as groups to be helped but as equal individuals who need to realize their potential. Therefore, in all kinds of scholarship, education, and support activities, we prioritize inclusive policies.

Intergenerational Knowledge Transfer and Responsibility

Today's knowledge and experience gain meaning only when they can be passed on to future generations. AHEF takes on an inspiring, supportive, and mentoring role for young scientists to grow. Our greatest responsibility is ensuring those who come after us are stronger, more conscious, and better equipped than we are.

Being Role Models for Future Scientists

Knowledge can be taught; but character is shaped by inspiration. AHEF is an institution that transmits not only knowledge but also stance and values. We show young scientists not just what to do but how to do it through our behavior. Consistency, ethical stance, and intellectual humility form the basis of our foundation's role model approach.

The Moral Responsibility of Authority: Using Medical Power for Good

A medical diploma is not just a professional certificate; it is the authority to touch human lives. This authority is the concrete manifestation of the trust that the state and society place in physicians. AHEF argues that this authority can only be meaningful when bounded by conscience, ethical responsibility, and absolute respect for human dignity. We stand on the side of responsibility, not power.

Openness to Criticism and Continuous Self-Improvement

Criticism is not a threat but the foundation of development. AHEF is an institution that constantly reevaluates itself, learns from its mistakes, and remains open to improvement. Through internal audit and external feedback mechanisms, we aim to reach better both individually and institutionally. Instead of 'We always do right,' we ask, 'Is better possible?'

Being a Scientific Solution Center for Rare, Complex, and Difficult-to-Treat Diseases

AHEF takes on both scientific and humanitarian responsibility in the field of diseases with complex diagnosis and treatment processes, rare conditions, and those requiring multidisciplinary collaboration.

Academic Neutrality and Inclusive Stance

AHEF is a foundation that maintains equal distance from all political, ideological, and social approaches, adopting scientific neutrality as a fundamental principle. We are scientists; our duty is not to take sides in debates but to produce knowledge; not to polarize but to unite; not to direct but to enlighten. Every activity our foundation carries out is shaped not by an effort to take political or ideological positions but by the goal of providing equal benefit to society as a whole. Therefore, without deviating from academic freedom, ethical responsibility, and scientific merit, we aim to build an open and inclusive structure for all segments of society. This stance is the foundation of AHEF's credibility, sustainability, and respect in the public eye.
